Yami Gautam (born 28 November 1988) is an Indian film actress and model who predominantly appears in Hindi and Telugu films.

Gautam's initial appearances were on Indian television commercials and soap operas such as Chand Ke Paar Chalo (2008), Raajkumar Aaryyan (2008), Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam (2009) and Meethi Choori No 1 (2010).

In 2010, she made her cinematic debut with Kannada film Ullasa Utsaha. In 2012, Gautam made her Bollywood debut in Shoojit Sircar's Vicky Donor. Upon release, the film was a critical and commercial success, and Gautam gained positive reviews for her performance.

Yami Gautam was born in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh in a Pahari-Punjabi family and was brought up in Chandigarh. Her father, Mukesh Gautam, is a Punjabi film director. Yami has a sister, Surilie Gautam who made her big screen debut with Punjabi film Power Cut. She did her regular schooling and later joined college for pursuing a graduate degree in law honours. She had aspired to join Indian Administrative Services (IAS) as a young girl, but at the age of 20, Yami decided to start her acting career. As she was pursuing Studies in Law Honors (first-year PU Student of the Law), but she left full-time studies for acting. Recently, she is doing her part-time Graduation from Mumbai. Yami is fond of reading, interior decoration and listening to music.

Gautam was twenty when she moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in movies. She made her television debut with Chand Ke Paar Chalo, which was followed by Raajkumar Aaryyan. Following this, she played her most notable role in Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam, which aired on Colors. Furthermore, she participated in the reality shows Meethi Choori No 1 and Kitchen Champion Season 1.
Debut in Films (2010-present)

Gautam made her film debut in Kannada film Ullasa Utsaha. Whilst the film failed at the box office, Gautam received positive reviews for her performance.

Gautam later made her Bollywood debut with Vicky Donor, in which she starred opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. She played the role of Bengali girl Ashima Roy, a girl who falls in love with a Punjabi boy with a past. Despite its small budget, the movie became a major commercial success and received critical appreciation. Gautam received appreciation for her performance.

Taran Adarsh writes "Yami Gautam makes an imposing debut. She adds enormous value to the movie by her act, screen presence and striking looks. She's truly admirable towards the latter part of the film." Madhureeta Mukherjee adds that Gautam "is a sheer delight to watch, emoting effortlessly."

She made her Telugu debut with the 2011 film Nuvvila, directed by Ravi Babu. She signed her second film in Kollywood with Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum opposite Jai. Her second Hindi film was Eeshwar Nivas's Total Siyappa', opposite Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar produced by Reliance Entertainment and Neeraj Pandey, got released in 2014.

Gautam has completed filming for Prabhu Deva's Action Jackson opposite Ajay Devgan and Sriram Raghavan's Badlapur opposite Varun Dhawan. Apart from those, she is busy in shooting a Tamil film Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum, a Telugu film Courier Boy Kalyan.In 2016 she completed filming her part for Divya Khosla Kumar's Sanam Re.

She is currently filming for Bhushan Kumar's Junooniat. She signed a film Kaabil starring opposite Hrithik Roshan which is produced by Rakesh Roshan and directed by Sanjay Gupta.

Mansi Parekh Gohil made her debut in acting with the serial Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi but became popular in Star One’s India Calling. She won the Zee TV's singing reality show Star Ya Rockstar. Gohil appeared in Star Plus' prime time show Gulaal. She was also seen in shows like 9X’s Remote Control and Star One’s Laughter Ke Phatke. She appeared in the Tamil romance film Leelai alongside actor Shiv Pandit, which was released in April 2012.

Manasi has also appeared in a film called Leelai in the South and made her Hindi debut with Yeh Kaisi Life which premiered at the IFFI Festival in Goa. A trained classical singer, Gohil has provided vocals for films like Sanjay Leela Bansali's Devdas.

Raai Laxmi (formerly Lakshmi Rai) is an Indian film actress who mainly appears in South Indian films. She has appeared in many successful Tamil productions, the most popular ones being Muni 2: Kanchana and Mankatha (both 2011). Raai made her debut in Malayalam in 2007, starring in Rock N' Roll. She followed up with several successful films such as Annan Thambi (2008), 2 Harihar Nagar (2009), Chattambinadu (2009), Evidam Swargamanu (2009), Oru Marubhoomikkadha (2011) and Mayamohini (2012), thus establishing herself as a successful actress in the industry. She also enjoys popularity in Kannada and Telugu films, after appearing in Kalpana and Adhinayakudu (both 2012).

Raai Lakshmi was born in Bangalore, Karnataka, and brought up at Belgaum. She initially worked as a model before entering the film industry. She appeared in television ads such as Sylcon Footwears, Josco Jewellers, Saravana Stores, Emmanuel Silks, Bru Coffee and Fair & Lovely.

She made her acting debut in 2005 in the Tamil film Karka Kasadara. Subsequently, she appeared in a number of Tamil films, including the comedy film Kundakka Mandakka (2005) opposite R. Parthiban, Perarasu's action-masala flick Dharmapuri (2006), and the romance film Nenjai Thodu (2007). In 2008, she began working in more serious films such as the drama film Velli Thirai, in which she played herself, and the action thriller Dhaam Dhoom directed by Jeeva. She received positive feedbacks for her portrayal of a lawyer in the latter. A review from Behindwoods wrote: "The latter (Raai Lakshmi) sizzles even as she is supposed to play the court professional who is caught in the web of smuggling drugs". She won her first Filmfare Award nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category.

She made her debut in Malayalam in 2007, starring in Rock & Roll opposite Mohanlal. She followed it up with several successful films such as Annan Thambi, 2 Harihar Nagar (2009), Evidam Swargamanu (2009) opposite Mohanlal, and Chattambinadu (2009) opposite Mammootty. She appeared in three Tamil films in 2009, Muthirai, Vaamanan and Naan Avanillai 2. In Vaamanan, she played a glamorous supermodel. In 2010, she was seen in three films. She made special appearances during song sequences in two of them, In Ghost House Inn and Pen Singam and portrayed a cowgirl in the Tamil film Irumbukkottai Murattu Singam.

Raai Lakshmi's first 2011 release was Christian Brothers opposite Mohanlal, which was a huge commercial success. Her next two films were Tamil projects, the comedy horror Kanchana and the Venkat Prabhu-directed action thriller Mankatha, starring Ajith Kumar. She played a negative character in the latter, which was received positively by critics.Both films emerged high financial success. Following Kanchana's success, she was signed on to reprise the role in its Kannada remake too. Her latest release Arabiyum, Ottakavum, P. Madhavan Nairum opposite Mohanlal is declared superhit by trade.

2014 will see the release of her films Aranmanai  and Irumbu Kuthirai in Tamil, Rajadhi Raja in Malayalam  and Shrungara in Kannada.

In June 2014 she changed her name from Lakshmi Rai to Raai Laxmi.
