Pragyan Ojha (born 5th September 1986) is an Indian cricketer who plays for Indian national cricket team. He is slow left arm orthodox bowler. He plays for Hyderabad cricket team in domestic cricket and Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Pragyan Ojha tied the nuptial knot with Karabee Kailash on 16 May 2010. The marriage was held with complete Oriya traditions, customs and rituals. The two of them reside in Hyderabad.
Pragyan Ojha played U-15 interstate cricket tournament in Orissa before moving to Hyderabad – a side he represents at the Ranji Trophy. A left-arm spinner in the orthodox mould, Ojha was one of the few spinners who performed consistently in the first three seasons of the IPL while playing for the Deccan Chargers. He made his Test debut for India in 2009, against Sri Lanka, and has shown the ability to keep things tight. Unafraid to toss the ball up to the batsman, Ojha has also shown fine temperament, a quality that has earned him a place in India’s ODI and T20I squads. But while his bowling career is still in its infancy, Ojha has earned his stripes by holding his nerve as VVS Laxman’s partner in the famous last-wicket win against Australia in the Mohali Test of October 2010. Slowly, he also began to form a successful partnership with R Ashwin in Tests as the duo hunted in pairs in the homes series against West Indies and New Zealand. He was also named the Man-of-the-match in the 2nd Test against West Indies in 2013 for his 10-wicket haul in the match.
